8 Months and Christmas is here again

Merry Christmas

We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Today we celebrated our 8 month LID anniversary. We had a very busy day which was good because it kept our mind off the fact that we have waited 8 months and we are not very much further down the road than we were when we started. China made referrals for the month of December. They got to December 14, 2005. We were hoping they would go further than six days but they didn't. Our hope for the new year is that China will begin to refer more babies and maybe a miracle will happen and next Christmas we'll be celebrating Christmas with our precious Anna. Here is Anna's Christmas outfit for this year. We think it is adorable. We look forward to seeing everyone at Christmas. We love you all.

7 Months today

Happy Thanksgiving to you all

Well another month under our belts. We enjoyed our Chinese tonight but the mood was quiet. We didn't get Anna an outfit tonight but we got a really "fitting" Halloween costume for her to use once she is home. This month went pretty quickly. We figure the next two months will go quickly as well. We are happy to report that China finally made it out of November 05. They made it to December 8 05. One day they will actually make it to 2006. We continue to hope and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait...............well you get the picture.

6 months or half a year

Ok. I hope people are reading our blog. We didn't get any comments last time so I don't know if because it is slow people aren't checking in. Unfortunately there is little to update. We are at 6 months and China is still in November they sent out referrals for this month and they went up to November 30th. The forecast for future referrals doesn't look too good. They are thinking that a year from now China might be referring March 06........UGH!!! We need you to pray. My heart is heavy right now and I'm fighting depression on how long we have to still wait. At China's current pace it'll take six to seven years to get Anna. Please don't say "Oh it won't take that long" or something to that effect because unless God does a miracle (and yes, I know he can) it'll be six to seven years at the current rate. The best thing you can do for us is to pray because our hearts our heavy with the thought of it being six more years till we hold our baby girl. Ok time to go too many tears.

5 months down....

Well it has now been five months since our log in date. This month went pretty fast. We knew it would with school starting back. We went and got Chinese and boy did I have a good laugh. Scott thought he would be brave and try something different. To put it in his words "Stretch himself". So he ordered orange beef. The waitress said we would like it. Well the sauce was pretty good but the meat was questionable. We weren't sure what "beef" this was or what animal it came from. Needless to say his face was priceless. He choked down enough to look like he ate it and then dug into my plate. Thanks for the laugh honey. Here is a picture of the outfit we got Anna for the 5 month LID anniversary. We both thought it had an Asian look to it. China made referrals through November 25, 2005. They only referred four days. Disheartening to say the least but we continue to have faith that God will bring our precious Anna to us in his time.

4 months and counting

Well I'm a little late in this post. We celebrated our four month log in date almost two weeks ago. We were a little distracted with a trip to Florida and with me starting back to school. I was too tired to post. But I have finally regained some time and here is the post two weeks late. Sorry. I love that people are looking at our blog and posting. Please continue to do so. You don't know how it encourages us both to see people's comments. I have gotten Anna a lot of adorable outfits and I thought I would "preview" some of them on my next few entries. Here are the first two that we bought. We got these on our one month log in date anniversary. It's hard to see but the pink one says "Daddy's little lovebug" and has ladybugs and polka dots all over it. And the other one is too cute with ladybugs. It is a 4t so it'll be awhile after we get her before she can wear it but it was so adorable I couldn't pass it up. I even found some matching socks. Oh and China has gotten through November 21st with referrals for this month. But now that I have waited so long for this post, referrals are about to come out again. Hopefully China will finish November this month. We are praying that way. Oh by the way, I did two post tonight. I felt bad for not updating in a while. Enjoy. .......and please leave a comment :).

What can $8.00 buy?

Ok....so this is what $8.00 can buy. We went to the mall tonight after dinner for a date and this is what we found. We paid $8.00 total for both outfits for Anna. I just love being able to buy her clothes and I can get these great "off" season deals. At least that is one positive about the wait.
(They are cuter in person---hint, hint)

A little blessing from God

Well the neatest thing happened this weekend. We went to P,cola for Scott to do some fishing with Daddy. We stayed with Mother, Daddy and Memaw. Well true to Memaw's nature she and Aunt Jane went garage sale shopping. I told them if they found anything "ladybug" to let me know. Well next thing I know Aunt Jane is coming through the door hauling an armful of things. The first thing I see is a ladybug lamp and then an area rug with ladybugs on it. She proceeds to pull out a whole nursery of the cutest ladybug pattern I have ever seen. She then tells us that they found it at a yard sale and the lady had $75 on it all (which would have been a steal). Well Memaw decides to haggle for a lower price. She puts Jane up to ask the lady if she'll take less. So Aunt Jane proceeds to tell the lady that we were adopting from China and wanted to do our nursery in a ladybug theme and would she take $5 for it all. The lady smiles and says "Absolutely, my husband and I adopted our daughter from China and this was her nursery" ISN'T THAT COOL!! Well needless to say I had tears in my eyes. She also gave us her name and email and said she would be happy to talk to us. SUCH A GOD MOMENT. I'm going to attempt to attach pictures of the nursery. It isn't totally complete but you can get a view of the adorable pattern. ENJOY.

3 months and counting......

Well we just celebrated our three month log in date anniversary. We had to go get our Chinese a day late. We were coming back from Fort Worth, Texas on Sunday and were too afraid to just pick a Chinese restaurant on the road. We aren't that brave!!! So we waited till Monday to go. We had a delicious dinner and commented on how it didn't feel like it had been three months so that hopefully is how it will be throughout our wait. It won't feel so long. China has made referrals through November 14, 2005. 17 more months to get through. Surely a "little" speed up will happen sometime soon. That is how we are praying. I got an outfit for Anna. It was a ladybug short/shirt outfit. Can't live without the ladybugs!!

Learning how to blog

Okay. So we are trying to create a blog that is interesting and catchy. Plus when the time comes for us to go to China we really want to know how to put pictures on the blog for everyone to see and not have anymore stress than we already will have becoming new parents. So this is a test! I have to say it looks pretty good if I do say so myself. hehehe

2 Months and counting...

Well we are actually two weeks past our two month post LID. Every 15th of the month, we go get Chinese food and daydream of the day we will see our beautiful Anna Meili's face. We also daydream what it'll be like in China and will we eat any "real" Chinese food once we are in China. Right now we both agree that it feels like we are playing house but one day it will be real. Please pray with us that China will begin to refer babies in a more timely manner and we will be able to bring Anna home sooner than we think. Another thing that we do each 15th of the month is get Anna an outfit. I must admit that I have gone other than the 15th and she is up to 20 outfits already!! Hey at least that is one good thing about the wait, I can hunt the good sales and buy clothes when the season changes. Like our friend Jamie said, "Our little girl is going to be one of the best dressed babies around!" Oh yeah baby.

Logged in Date

We are so excited to announce that we have been officially logged in with China. We have a log in date of 04-15-2007. We pray that God will grant us the patience to wait until the time when we can travel and get our precious Anna Meili
